"Outré Autre" includes recorded music and the video ‘art’ of Joey Daytona, featuring; Energy in Motion, Make Art Not War, Reporter Fluff, Been Around the World, The Condy-R/Jay-Z Remix, Home and others.

‘Energy in Motion’ is a series of Middle Eastern belly-dancing videos set to music that received a grant from the Somerville Mass. Arts Council and was performed live at the Third Life Studio in 2007. These videos include music by; Cut Chemist, Jehan, Mychael Danna, Sex Gang Children, and Front 242.

“Make Art Not War” is a multimedia collage and visual debate on current international events and the creative process. Inspired by the ‘street art’ of Shepard Fairey and his OBEY GIANT sticker campaigns it is also an exercise in Situationist “detournement”, or derailment.

“Reporter Fluff” is a commentary on cable news media and ‘infotainment’ and an homage to 'The Society of the Spectacle' by Guy Debord .

“Been Around the World” is a remix of the Puff Daddy & Mase hip-hop video that sampled Lisa Stansfield’s song, but this video delves into the CIA’s extraordinary rendition program in the War on Terror. It was on display for the month of March 2008 at the  Warehouse Arts gallery in Washington D.C.

“The Condy-R/Jay-Z Remix” mashes up Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice’s 9-11 Commission testimony with the Hip-Hop raps of Jay-Z to create a unique audio and video experience that ends with Godzilla rampaging through Tokyo.

“Home” is a series of photographs by Albany area artist Greg Smith set to the song “Home” by Depeche Mode.

The next photos are from the performance at the Third Life Studio on June 23rd, 2007.
